At the end of last week, ACC and contractor teams led a major operation to install chimneys on the roof of our second block.

Ten intake and exhaust chimneys must be installed to ensure the proper functioning of NMP Recovery's cathode coating facilities.

More specifically, we have three types of chimneys. From the smallest, which is 3 metres long and weighs around 700 kilos, to the largest, which is 9 metres long, weighs around 2 tonnes and has a diameter of 1.60 metres. They were placed about 80 metres from the road and at a height of over 23 metres," explain process engineers Stefano Guerrizio and Aldo Vaccaro.

The chimneys were installed with millimetre precision using a huge crane, after lengthy preparation work. The operation was a complete success!
