An electric Paris Motor Show for ACC!
The 90th Mondial de l'Auto, held from 14 to 20 October 2024 at Paris Porte de Versailles, ended on Sunday with a remarkable success, attracting 508,007 visitors over the six days it was open to the public. More than 4,000 journalists, a quarter of them international, and 1,000 content creators attended the press day on 14 October. These figures, announced by the Hopscotch group, organisers of the event, represent a significant increase compared to the 2022 edition, a sign that the automotive industry continues to create excitement among the French and international public.
A massive participation from the industry
This year's show brought together 48 manufacturers and 158 exhibitors and partners, covering five pavilions at the Parc des Expositions. Many of the leading brands were back to Paris to present their new electric vehicles. These included Renault's much-awaited R5, Peugeot's new e-3008 and e-5008 - whose long-range versions will be fitted with our HR batteries, the new electric Alpine and Citroën's C3.
Chinese manufacturers, who were out in force at the show, unveiled vehicles designed for the European market. Tang, Han, Atto, Cat, Coffee, Marvel, but also BYD, Great Wall Motors and Seres were all present at the Paris Motor Show, with Premium Chinese models, mostly SUVs, sometimes eclipsing the historic European players, without however creating unanimity.
‘La Fabrique de l'Électrique’ (Electric Factory) : the French automotive industry players collaborate and invite visitors to go behind the scenes of a car’s manufacture.
At the heart of the show, the La Fabrique de l'Électrique stand, of which ACC was a member, offered a unique fun, educational and immersive experience. This space, set up by the Plateforme de la Filière Automobile (PFA), took visitors behind the scenes of the manufacture of an electric car, with the aim of educating the public about the advances and major transformation undergone by the automotive industry and the challenges of electric mobility, as well as promoting Made in France in this field.
Visitors were able to explore the different stages in the production of an electric car, from the extraction of raw materials to the finished product, including key aspects such as recharging and the key components of an electric car.
Alongside us on the stand were a number of leading players in the French automotive industry:
- Deloitte, a leading provider of professional services in audit & assurance, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory and tax & legal
- Eramet, a responsible producer and processor of metals
- FORVIA, France's No. 1 automotive equipment supplier and No. 7 worldwide, active in 6 businesses (Seating, Interiors, Clean Mobility, Electronics, Lighting, Lifecycle Solutions), leader in sustainable mobility technologies.

A large number of questions demonstrating the public's interest, but still too many preconceived ideas
The constant flow of visitors and the many questions put to our experts throughout the week revealed the public's keen interest in electric vehicles, but also the persistence of certain preconceived ideas. The main concerns were repairs, battery recycling, safety risks and Chinese domination of the sector. Our experts, including Olivier Rabaud, Ivan Ollivier, Paul Cormier and Frédéric Barbarit, were able to answer these questions during keynotes on battery safety and future innovations in the sector. Their presentations attracted so much interest that they were sometimes followed by hour-long question-and-answer sessions.

Proud to present our first batteries made in France!
The ACC representatives at the Paris Motor Show were very proud to present the first batteries made in France! We're proud to be able to say that these batteries will soon be available in the Opel Grandland at the end of the year, and in the e-3008 and e-5008 in 2025!
The Paris Motor Show is over, but our module is still on its way to be presented at the Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France (Made in France Exhibition) at the Elysée Palace. You can already get your tickets to come and admire them in the courtyard of the Elysée Palace this weekend, on 26 and 27 October.
We're only at the beginning of the story, but this edition of the Mondial de l'Auto 2024 has confirmed the public's attraction to automotive innovation and the importance of the European automotive industry in the hearts of visitors. The Paris Motor Show also confirmed the crucial role we have to play in educating and raising awareness of the challenges of electric mobility to support the transition.
See you in 2026 for the next Paris Motor Show!
