PRESS RELEASE
- On 26 and 27 October, the Élysée Palace will be honouring companies, producers and manufacturers committed to French manufacturing.
- For this 4th edition of the exhibition, 122 products have been selected, including batteries manufactured by ACC in Hauts-de-France at its Gigafactory in Billy-Berclau Douvrin.
- Less than 4 years after the creation of ACC, these high-performance batteries are now fitted on versions of the Opel GrandLand, the PEUGEOT E-3008 and the PEUGEOT E-5008.
Paris, 24 October 2024 - As part of the ramp-up of production at its Gigafactory in Billy-Berclau/Douvrin (Hauts-de-France), ACC (Automotive Cells Company) is proud to be one of the winners of the Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France, to be held at the Élysée Palace on 26 and 27 October.
With the 1ère Gigafactory in operation in France and the first "Made in France" batteries, ACC is confirming its pioneering role in the development of a brand new industrial sector that did not exist in 2020.
The result of four years of research and innovation, ACC's high-performance battery modules are now fitted in versions of the first mass-produced vehicles: Opel Grandland, PEUGEOT E-3008 Long Range and PEUGEOT E-5008 Long Range.
With 1,900 employees, ACC is the most advanced battery manufacturer in France. The 1er production block at Billy-Berclau produces several hundred battery modules every day, with results that are constantly improving. By the end of 2024, several thousand modules will have been delivered, enabling around 2,000 vehicles to be equipped.
"By 2025, our aim is to equip 150,000 vehicles. This highlight at the Élysée Palace demonstrates the collective virtue of our project in terms of industrial sovereignty, because we are taking up a challenge of the future: producing batteries in Europe, where our Asian competitors have a 15-year lead. We would like to thank the President of the Republic for this vital support for our efforts, because it is only with the support of the public authorities, in France and in Europe, that we will be able to realise our ambitions" said Yann Vincent, Chief Executive Officer of ACC.
The Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France is open to the public from Saturday 26 to Sunday 27 October at the Palais de l'Élysée.
