PARIS / EUMSEONG, October 14, 2026 – On September 30, 2026, JR Energy Solution (JRES) and Automotive Cells Company (ACC) signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding to explore cooperation opportunities in battery electrode manufacturing in Europe.

The proposed cooperation is intended to support battery customers seeking flexible, high-quality electrode manufacturing capabilities closer to their Western operations. It would combine JRES’s experience in electrode and cell manufacturing with ACC’s automotive-grade electrode manufacturing expertise and available capacity at its Nersac facility in France.

JRES will assess how ACC’s electrode manufacturing capabilities at Nersac can complement its industrial footprint and supply network, and support future customer programs. Any manufacturing or supply arrangements would be subject to successful technical and quality qualification, subsequent definitive agreements to be negotiated between the parties, and corporate and regulatory approvals, where applicable. The cooperation could support potential business opportunities for customers in Europe, Korea and North America.

ACC’s Nersac facility serves as an industrial excellence and pilot center, bridging product and process development with industrial-scale manufacturing. The site has demonstrated ACC’s ability to manufacture automotive-grade electrodes and will provide the basis for assessing future customer programs. The proposed cooperation would complement ACC's ongoing product development, testing and industrial activities at Nersac, while supporting the efficient use of the site's available manufacturing capacity.

The MoU also creates a framework for the companies to explore broader collaboration in battery manufacturing. By combining their respective expertise, JRES and ACC aim to develop flexible manufacturing solutions aligned with customer-specific technical, quality and industrialization requirements.

“Nersac has demonstrated ACC’s ability to manufacture automotive-grade electrodes with the quality discipline and industrial execution expected by the automotive industry. Through this MoU, we will assess how ACC’s European capabilities can complement JRES’s manufacturing expertise and provide customers with reliable and flexible solutions,” said Allan Swan, Chief Executive Officer of ACC.

“This MoU represents an important step toward expanding JRES’s battery foundry network in Europe and exploring flexible European manufacturing options for our customers. By combining ACC’s automotive-grade electrode manufacturing expertise and European industrial capabilities with JRES’s experience in electrode and cell manufacturing, we aim to respond more quickly and flexibly to our customers’ evolving needs. We believe this partnership can create a strong foundation for supporting customers as they move toward industrialization and commercial-scale production in Europe,” said Duke Oh, Chief Executive Officer of JRES.
